Once you click it, your PC will start pre-loading the game on your machine. Then, Click ‘ OK‘ and then you will see ‘Play Now’ option. When you click on ‘Request Access‘ again, a new pop-up window will display that says ‘Access Granted.’. You’ll receive an email when the developer is ready for more participants‘. 
Click on ‘Request Access’ and upon clickin it, a pop-message will appear which reads: ‘ Click below to confirm your request to join. Battlefield 2042 ‘s free access period on Steam began on March 13, about two weeks after the start of Season 4: Eleventh Hour. Visit the game’s pre-order page and scroll down to see the optin called ‘ Join the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta now!‘ along with the ‘Request access’ button. Go the search bar and search for Battlefield 2042. Login to your Steam account or on Steam Client. 
One update: the Digital Standard Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (priced at $69.99) now include the last-gen version of the game on the same platform for those who want to upgrade to next-gen later on.
